St. Elizabeth Youth Group presents their annual walk-a-thon. This is in aid of the youth group's T-shirts and retreat costs. The journey was from Golden Spring to Castleton. The walk-a-thon was very exciting and challenging to some new members. The group of 9 members, met at St.Ez. Handed in their walk-a-thon sheets and were ready for the long journey. We drove from the church to Golden Spring. When we reached, we then said a brief prayer and started the journey. We started at 10:30 a.m. from Golden Springs, made a few stops on the way, however were determined to complete the journey. We walked for 2 hours in the blazing sun and cool breeze. When we arrived at Castleton, we were so excited, having completed the journey. Some of us didnt want to change and go in the river, but the rest, including myself, didnt hessitate to go in. A few minutes later, our Advisors, Worrel Hibbert, Desmond Gordon, Damion Campbell and Lascelles Mcintoch arrived. They congratulated the group on this adventurous trip. They provided meals & refreshments.
We laughed, talked, swimmed and even relaxed together and enjoyed the day. Rain fell a few times, but it didnt stop us from having a great time. We were the only group at Castleton for the whole day. We left Castleton at 7;00 p.m. and arrived at St.Ez a hour later. When we arrived, we talked about the journey and what happened on the journey. Then we went our seperate ways to get some rest.
