Every month Saint E'z distributes food supplies to the poor with the help of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. Saint E'z begs for food from "Food for the Poor" in Spanish Town. We send a driver to pick up bags of rice, wheat, cornmeal, etc., from Food for the Poor and then we distribute the supplies with the help of the dedicated men and women of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. Saint E'z and the St Vincent de Paul Society also act independently to provide education, emergency relief, clothing, for the poor. One great service the Saint Vincent de Paul Society provides our poor parishioners is a proper burial of the dead. Often the Saint Vincent de Paul Society works with the church to assist poor families with funeral and burial expenses. Here are some pictures of the St. Vincent de Paul Society distributing food to our poor and needy neighbors.
Members of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society visited Ozanam Home for the elderly on January 1st and prepared a delicious meal for the residents. Pauline Salmon spent the whole day in the hot kitchen. She had been up all night cooking for the Youth New Year's Eve party. She got home around 5 in the morning and was back in the kitchen at Ozanam before 9 in the morning! Valerie Vergo and Ina White take a break in the backyard of Ozanam as residents and friends enjoy the meal prepared by Saint E'z parishioners.
